Battens of two timber species applied in alternating rhythm across the face. The pairing creates a depth and tonal contrast that single-species battens can't deliver. Light tones lift, dark tones recede, the door reads as woven rather than striped.
Standard pairing is Tasmania and Spotted Gum. The contrast is immediate without being loud: Tasmania is honey-warm, Spotted Gum is darker and harder. Custom timber combinations are available on request if you want a different reading.
